Economic Development in Post-Disaster Indonesia
In line with CHF’s goal to empower communities for sustainable economic growth, CHF's pro-poor economic development programs are geared towards laying the foundation for long-term progress by strengthening the financial, technical and entrepreneurial infrastructure that supports sustainable livelihoods and community-wide economic development.
With experience working in a range of contexts, including urban, rural, post-disaster, and under-developed remote communities, CHF's programs provide:
- SME and business skills development;
- market-driven vocational and on-the-job training;
- support to microfinance and SME lending institutions;
- local economic development (LED) and value chain research and analysis;
- economic infrastructure development; and
- institutional support to cooperatives and business associations.
Sectors of experience include: agriculture, fisheries, food processing, petty trade, handicrafts, and light construction and manufacturing.
