Economic Development in Post-Disaster Indonesia

In line with CHF’s goal to empower communities for sustainable economic growth, CHF's pro-poor economic development programs are geared towards laying the foundation for long-term progress by strengthening the financial, technical and entrepreneurial infrastructure that supports sustainable livelihoods and community-wide economic development.

With experience working in a range of contexts, including urban, rural, post-disaster, and under-developed remote communities, CHF's programs provide:

  • SME and business skills development;
  • market-driven vocational and on-the-job training;
  • support to microfinance and SME lending institutions;
  • local economic development (LED) and value chain research and analysis;
  • economic infrastructure development; and
  • institutional support to cooperatives and business associations.

Sectors of experience include: agriculture, fisheries, food processing, petty trade, handicrafts, and light construction and manufacturing.
