Mission

CHF International's mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions.
KATA Beneficiaries

CHF International is successful because it brings together the people, organizations and resources necessary to ensure steady, sustainable change. Our programs ensure that individuals, families and communities:

  • Begin to participate in the decisions that impact their lives
  • Learn to work together to solve their own problems
  • Are provided with the tools and skills needed to escape from the bonds of poverty
  • Form productive partnerships that will sustain the cycle of progress
  • Develop confidence in their ability to create a brighter, more prosperous future.

The results of our work are impressive: improved quality of life, greater stability, increased prosperity - all of the ingredients necessary for a lasting peace.

In the world today:

  • 2.7 billion people are still living on less than $2/day
  • 1.1 billion people are still living in inadequate housing
  • 799 million people do not have adequate food to survive
  • 115 million children do not have access to education
  • 1 out of every 5 people does not have access to safe, clean water
  • At any given time, more than 40 countries are involved in armed conflict

“The main difference between success and failure is the degree to which poor people themselves are involved in determining the quality and quantity of the services they receive.” – World Bank World Development Report 2004
