The CHF International Software Development and Support (SDS) unit was officially established in 2002 in response to a growing recognition that Information Systems could be effectively utilized to facilitate and streamline program monitoring and evaluation needs worldwide. Presently, the SDS unit is a team of 25 dedicated IT professionals responsible for developing and supporting software for CHF International, as well as other clients including USAID.
Unlike regular software solution providers, the software developed by the unit is conceptualized, developed and enhanced by drawing from the organization’s proven expertise and extensive experience in international development.
A clear indicator of the unit’s success in devising information technology solutions tailored to international development can be witnessed through the growing reputation and interest these products are generating. Presently, the SDS unit’s software is being utilized in programs involving multiple implementing partners and development organizations. Furthermore, there has been increased interest in adopting these tools from external parties, who recognize the importance and advantages they provide to collect, analyze, manage and communicate information across borders, in complex environments.
