Community Business Initiatives: CHF International offers business training to low-income residents. The Business Initiatives program recently opened a second office in New Brighton, South Africa. This additional location ensures the program will be marketed to a much wider audience in the entire Nelson Mandela Metropole region.

Housing Associations: CHF International has also helped form democratic housing associations to organize construction of new core housing. Innovative techniques introduced by CHF allow fast building with resident "self-help" labor. This work is now being carried out by an independent South African organization created by CHF International.

Health Initiatives: CHF International, in cooperation with the American Public Health Association (APHA), has developed holistic programs to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in South Africa. We will work in partnership with community leaders to develop programs that address the effects of HIV/AIDS on citizens' health and the economy in Africa and leverage external resources.
